“For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.” 2 Chronicles 16:9

It is foolish to try and play mind games with God. He knows everything there is to know, so don’t try to fake Him out.

“For the eyes of the LORD are toward the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the LORD is against those who do evil.” 1 Peter 3:12

“O our God, will You not judge them? For we are powerless before this great multitude who are coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You. All Judah was standing before the LORD, with their infants, their wives and their children.” “Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell down before the LORD. The Levites, from the sons of the Kohathites ad of the sons of the Korahites, stood up to praise the LORD God of Israel, with a very loud voice. ” 2 Chronicles 20:12-13, 18-19

‘They rose early in the morning and went out to the wilderness of Tekoa; and when they went out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, O Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem, put your trust in the Lord your God and you will be established. Put your trust in His prophets and succeed.” 21 When he had consulted with the people, he appointed those who sang to the Lord and those who praised Him in holy attire, as they went out before the army and said, “Give thanks to the Lord, for His lovingkindness is everlasting.” 22 When they began singing and praising, the Lord set ambushes against the sons of Ammon, Moab and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; so they were routed. 23 For the sons of Ammon and Moab rose up against the inhabitants of Mount Seir destroying them completely; and when they had finished with the inhabitants of Seir, they helped to destroy one another.’ 2 Chronicles 20:20-23

The eyes of the LORD are wonderful on those who love and serve Him. For those who walk against Him, they are a terrifying thing.

“It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living God.” Hebrews 10:31

Isn’t it fascinating that Jehoshaphat put the singers IN FRONT of the army to worship and praise the LORD IN ADVANCE of the victory against a huge army of their enemies? Notice in v.22 that WHEN they began praising and singing, the LORD acted on their behalf.

This should teach us all that the victory is ALWAYS the LORD’s and His mighty deliverance is set loose when we praise Him in the midst of our troubles. To keep our eyes on Him is step one in seeing Him release His power to answer our prayers. His eyes are ALWAYS on His children. The key is for us to put our eyes ON HIM and KEEP THEM THERE!

“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” James 4:8a

Guess who moves FIRST? Great bumper sticker I saw once, “Feel away from God? Guess who moved!” It is up to us to move first!

“Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life from the pit, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.” Psalm 103:1-5

The word bless can also be translated as Worship. Our God does not bless us on Thanksgiving Day but every minute of every year that we walk close to His heart’s desire. Worship the LORD O my soul both now and forevermore.

“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust!”
For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with His pinions,
and under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.

You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
or of the arrow that flies by day; 0f the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
A thousand may fall at your side
and ten thousand at your right hand,
but it shall not approach you.
You will only look on with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
For you have made the Lord, my refuge,
even the Most High, your dwelling place.
No evil will befall you,
nor will any plague come near your tent.” Psalm 91:1-10 NASB

There are special rewards for all His children who walk with integrity of heart and life. I cannot wait to see His glorious face and fall at His feet and worship Him for all eternity. We are saved by His matchless grace and then it is up to us as to whether or not we will walk the rest of our earthly life close to His loving heart. This Psalm lays it out very clearly for each one of us.

Happy Monday!

“O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O God of Jacob! Behold our shield O God, and look upon the face of Your anointed. For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand outside. I would rather stand at the threshold of the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!” Psalm 84:8-12 NASB

Take the time to look up and read the poem by Sam Shoemaker titled, “I Stand At The Door.” It will bless you today.

“When He killed them, then they sought Him, and returned and searched diligently for God; and they remembered that God was their rock; and the Most High God their Redeemer. BUT they deceived Him with their mouth and lied to Him with their tongue. For their heart was not steadfast toward Him, nor were they faithful in His covenant. But He, being compassionate, forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them; and often He restrained His anger and did not arouse all His wrath. Thus He remembered that they were but flesh, a wind that passes and does not return.” (emphasis added) Psalm 78:34-39 NASB

Tragically, far too many professing believers today fall into this category. Many just give God lip service concerning their desire to live a god-honoring lifestyle, while in the dark they carry on with profanity, drinking and immorality.

Sadly, most do not realize that God hears, sees and knows everything we say and do. What kind of way is this to live the life of a Christian? What kind of example is this to the lost world? I frankly do not understand the attraction so many professing believers have with these things. The Bible makes it clear that genuine followers of Jesus Christ experience a drastic change in their desires. No longer seeking the world, the flesh and the devil, but living a life pleasing to the one who gave his very life to set them free from sin and death.

Everyone has a free will to choose his or her lifestyle, but to choose wrongly might just land them outside of heaven and they will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire with the devil and his angels.

“Why do you call Me. ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” Luke 6:46 NASB

“Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” (emphasis added) 1 Corinthians6:18-20 NASB

“You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth. That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand, and answer us!” Psalm 60:4 NASB

“Through God we shall do valiantly, and it is He who will tread down our adversaries.” Psalm 60:12 NASB

Some great promises to those who know and love the LORD.

Wernher von Braun is called the father of space flight because of his work on rockets during WW II. At 22 years of age, he received his Ph. D. in physics from Humboldt University in Berlin in 1934. Before his 30th birthday, he had 80 scientists and technicians working for him at Peenemunde, Germany. His first true rocket was launched in 1942. He became discontent with Hitler’s grand scheme and began to voice his disagreement. Himmler took over the rocket program. He disagreed openly with the V-2 rockets being aimed at civilian population centers in England and Paris. He was jailed but because of his expertise in rockets, he was released again. In 1945, when the Americans took over, he and his entire team surrendered to them and began soon afterwards to work on the American rocket program. He became a strong Christian and creationist shortly after his work on the moon shot. He said, “Creationism was a viable scientific theory for the origin of the universe, life and man.”

Here was a brilliant scientist who openly held to his Christian faith and the Designer of the universe.

Just FYI!

“I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay, and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; many will see and fear and will trust in the LORD.” Psalm40:1-3 NASB

“How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
whose sin is covered!
How blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
and in whose spirit there is no deceit!

When I kept silent about my sin, my body wasted away
through my groaning all day long.
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me;
my vitality was drained away as with the fever heat of summer. Selah.
I acknowledged my sin to You,
and my iniquity I did not hide;
I said, “I will confess my transgressions to the Lord”;
and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to You in a time when You may be found;
surely in a flood of great waters they will not reach him.
You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble;
You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:1-7 NASB

From the prayer of salvation to our daily use of 1 John 1:9, His faithfulness to forgive is amazing by the precious blood of Jesus/Yeshua. When we try to ignore His conviction for our sins, we put ourselves in between a rock and a hard place and the misery does not let up until we repent and ask Him once again for His matchless gift of forgiveness.

Praise God for His amazing grace and forgiveness. Oh the joy of living in His perfect fellowship. Peace/Shalom to all who find it.

Have a wonderful day in the LORD.

PS Selah is best translated, “Stop and think about what you just read.”
