“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” John 17:3

“Now therefore, I pray You, if I have found favor in Your sight, let me know Your ways that I may know You, so that I may find favor in Your sight. Consider too, that this nation is Your people.” Exodus 33:13

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105

“Philip said to Him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.’ Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been so long with you, and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how can you say, “Show us the Father?” Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works’ ” John 14:8-10

“7 But whatever things were gain to me, those things I have counted as loss for the sake of Christ. 8 More than that, I count all things to be loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them but rubbish so that I may gain Christ, 9 and may be found in Him, not having a righteousness of my own derived from the Law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which comes from God on the basis of faith,

10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death; 11 in order that I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12 Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 3:7-14

(all passages are taken from the NASB, emphasis added)

Bottom line, salvation is not about just going to church or being religious, it IS about knowing God in a personal, intimate, loving relationship. Some folks look a bit odd when you ask them if they love God with their whole heart, soul, mind and strength. There is no need of this. If one knows God, the is a natural passion to love Him and the things of God. His Word is also loved and studied to find the path to knowing and loving Him more and more.

Just a bit of Bible encouragement for all who read this.

8
Oh give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name;
Make known His deeds among the peoples.
9
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him;
Speak of all His wonders.
10
Glory in His holy name;
Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be glad.
11
Seek the Lord and His strength;
Seek His face continually.
12
Remember His wonderful deeds which He has done,
His marvels and the judgments from His mouth,
13
O seed of Israel His servant,
Sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!
14
He is the Lord our God;
His judgments are in all the earth.
15
Remember His covenant forever,
The word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
16
The covenant which He made with Abraham,
And His oath to Isaac.
17
He also confirmed it to Jacob for a statute,
To Israel as an everlasting covenant,
18
Saying, “To you I will give the land of Canaan,
As the portion of your inheritance.”
19
When they were only a few in number,
Very few, and strangers in it,
20
And they wandered about from nation to nation,
And from one kingdom to another people,
21
He permitted no man to oppress them,
And He reproved kings for their sakes, saying,
22
“Do not touch My anointed ones,
And do My prophets no harm.”
23
Sing to the Lord, all the earth;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
24
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
25
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
He also is to be feared above all gods.
26
For all the gods of the peoples are idols,
But the Lord made the heavens.
27
Splendor and majesty are before Him,
Strength and joy are in His place.
28
Ascribe to the Lord, O families of the peoples,
Ascribe to the Lord glory and strength.
29
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name;
Bring an offering, and come before Him;
Worship the Lord in holy array.
30
Tremble before Him, all the earth;
Indeed, the world is firmly established, it will not be moved.
31
Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
And let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns.”
32
Let the sea roar, and all it contains;
Let the field exult, and all that is in it.
33
Then the trees of the forest will sing for joy before the Lord;
For He is coming to judge the earth.
34
O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
For His lovingkindness is everlasting.
35
Then say, “Save us, O God of our salvation,
And gather us and deliver us from the nations,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
And glory in Your praise.”
36
Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel,
From everlasting even to everlasting.

Then all the people said, “Amen,” and praised the Lord.

25 But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him, “Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said, “Your servant went nowhere.” 2 Kings 5:25

26 Then he said to him, “Did not my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money and to receive clothes and olive groves and vineyards and sheep and oxen and male and female servants? 27 Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence a leper as white as snow. 2 Kings 5:26-27

“One of his servants said, ‘No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.’ ” 2 Kings 6:12

“So he answered, ‘Do not fear, for those with us are more than those who are with them.’ Then Elisha prayed and said, ‘O LORD, I pray, open his eyes that he may see.’ And the LORD opened the servant’s eyes and he saw; and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:16-17

These are some amazing verses of Scripture! Elijah has been taken up to heaven in a chariot of fire and now Elisha, his faithful servant, is now the prophet with the answers.

The first passage deals with the healing of Naaman from leprosy. Elisha sent him to the Jordan river to dip his body in the water seven times and he was miraculously healed. Elisha refused to take anything in payment for the healing and so Naaman loaded two mule loads of the soil of Israel to take with him as he went home. Gehazi was greedy and made up a lie to get some things for himself. In the story, he lied three times and, as our second passage indicates. Elisha saw all that he did and confronted him with it. It does not pay to lie to a Seer, as they see all.

In the third verse, we see another part of a Seer’s power. The words and strategies of the enemy of God’s people, is heard and reported to the king. Who needs spies with this man of God around?

In the fourth passage, the story continues as the king of Aram is ready to fight Israel and has superior forces. The helper of Elisha was concerned about the situation, and he asks Elisha what they can do. Elisha answers that the ones with them outnumber the opposing forces. He prayed to the LORD to open his servant’s eyes. When he did he saw a mass of chariots of fire ready to attack. Then the servants of enemy king came to Elisha and they were struck blind. Killing them was not on the agenda but he also prayed for their eyes to be opened and they saw this huge angelic army. The end result was that Aram feasted with them and then withdrew never to come again.

So, the point of this is that some today claim to have such ‘seeing’ power, but we must use Scripture to put them to the test. The Bible clearly teaches that if JUST ONE of their prophetic words does not come true, then they are a FALSE PROPHET. A true prophet does not go around bragging or showing off. Elisha did not even come out of his house when Naaman came to him to be cured. He sent a messenger with clear instructions. Naaman thought it odd that he did not wave his hand over it and say an incantation of some sort so he would be healed. He had too much of this operation back home. God works quietly and NOT FOR PAY. We have too many on television who are always asking for money for a piece of cloth that the so-called prophet had wiped his or her face with and this cloth was supposed to bring healing to the one receiving it. Many other gimmicks are employed also.

Elisha is a great example of God’s kind of Seer. He did not make a big show, did not ask for gifts and had amazing results, consistently. Think about this the next time you switch on Christian television. Make some comparisons with this story and see if the so-called prophet (seer) lives up to the biblical standard. If not, then they are a FALSE PROPHET!

“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:3-6 NASB

Wow! What a powerful passage of Scripture! Just let these words soak into your minds. We live in a day in America when these words are making perfect sense to a church that has been largely asleep in the light for decades and the result has been that we have allowed these strongholds, speculations and things raised up against the knowledge of God to build themselves fortresses from which to attack the church, Christians, the Word of God and God Himself. We are just beginning to wake up and realize that they are so strong now that ONLY by the power of God can they be destroyed.

Just a few of these strongholds are the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, Socialism/liberalism and indoctrination by public education, and now even our own Justice Department and the White House itself. The First Amendment is in the cross hairs and under assault daily.

There is a new law in Kentucky, of all places, that now forbids volunteer pastors who are part of government counselors for juvenile criminals, from preaching against homosexuality and calling it sinful. Note the following report from Matt Staver with Liberty Counsel.
The Kentucky Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) revoked the volunteer credentials of an ordained minister because he was unable to sign a statement promising to refrain from ever telling juvenile inmates that homosexuality was “sinful.”
In a letter to the Commissioner, Liberty Counsel has given the Department until July 31 to reinstate David Wells’ volunteer visitor credentials.
Pastor Wells has served as a volunteer for over ten years, faithfully visiting and mentoring juveniles at the Warren County Regional Juvenile Detention Center, under the prison ministry of Pleasant View Baptist Church in McQuady. Many juveniles are in DJJ custody because of sexual crimes. Pastor Wells must be able to discuss what the Bible says about matters of sexuality with the juveniles he is trying to help. To remove the Bible from a pastor’s hands is like removing a scalpel from a surgeon’s hands. Without it, they cannot provide healing.Pastor Wells was barred from visiting, counseling, or leading worship services for juveniles based on DJJ Policy 912 IV(H) “Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity,” which states that volunteers:
“[S]hall not refer to juveniles by using derogatory language in a manner that conveys bias towards or hatred of the LGBTQI community. DJJ staff, volunteers, interns, and contractors shall not imply or tell LGBTQI juveniles that they are abnormal, deviant, sinful, or that they can or should change their sexual orientation or gender identity.”
DJJ 912 equates the teaching of Biblical morality with ‘derogatory,’ ‘biased,’ and ‘hateful’ speech. In so doing, the DJJ policy creates an unconstitutional, religious litmus test for DJJ access.The First Amendment prohibits the government from viewpoint discrimination. This detention center may not prohibit the expression of Biblical morality simply because a few DJJ policymakers object to the Bible and its teaching.

God bless you abundantly for standing with us

Mat Staver, Founder and Chairman
Liberty Counsel

Can you believe the blatant attacks on the freedom of religion promised in the Bill of Rights? Note the language of the First Amendment.

“Congress shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion, or the prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for redress of grievances.” (emphasis added)

Folks, all these freedoms are under fire by our Socialist based leadership at present. Who could have imagined that what WWII, Korea and Vietnam wars were fought to stamp out would now be administered from the White House and its minions. If it is not time to take a stand NOW, then when should we do so? Letting strongholds and that which is raised up against the knowledge of God gain a foothold, makes it becomes something that only God can remove by a praying and surrendered church.

Note the last part of the passage. “We are ready to punish all disobedience, WHENEVER your obedience is complete,” is the key to the passage. You see, God is waiting on HIS people to get right and stay right with Him before He steps up and deals with these strongholds. Also note that this is a partnership of God and His people. Note the word WE in the passage. It is a team effort. God uses us as His hands, feet and voice to accomplish this tearing down process. The First and Second Great Awakenings in America did just that. It cleaned out the rat’s nests that had been allowed to take over in many areas of life. Even good old FDR tried to do this prior to WWII. Thank God he was thwarted in his efforts.

The same is true today. I just cannot imagine why anyone who was raised in the wonderful country that we live in, could even think in ways of undermining our way of life is beyond comprehension. If we study Mr. Obama’s growing up years it becomes clearer since he was tutored by Communists and Socialists all the way through. He was indoctrinated early on, BUT for the others who were NOT raised this way it is nothing short of treason to try and carry out such plans.

We cannot wait on someone else to deliver us, we must make our voices heard and we MUST show up on election day and vote candidates who share our biblical values into office. 2016 is another opportunity to restore sanity to our nation. If we miss this opportunity, WE MAY NOT GET ANOTHER!

NOTE: I am in NO way advocating violent means to accomplish this. As the passage says, our warfare is spiritual not physical. There may be a time when taking up arms is necessary, but I truly hope not, but if it does, then this will not be done by individuals but by an organized method.
