“14 If you will fear the Lord and serve Him, and listen to His voice and not rebel against the command of the Lord, then both you and also the king who reigns over you will follow the Lord your God. 15 If you will not listen to the voice of the Lord, but rebel against the command of the Lord, then the hand of the Lord will be against you, as it was against your fathers.” 1 Samuel 12:14-15 NASB

This is not only a warning to those who profess faith in God but for the nation which turns its back on God as well. Many in America and our nation itself are in grave danger at the present time. God will, in a moment of time, act to remove this nation from its freedom and prosperity if we continue to rebel against His commands. Many who THINK themselves Christians are in this same boat. To thumb their noses at God’s clear commands and live in a lifestyle of open sin will find themselves facing His wrath and judgment. God is not some elderly grandfather in heaven who just lets things slide by. He is patient with all, to a point, and then He takes up His clean out the dross mode and brings tribulation on them that they cannot rid themselves of. Many live in open sexual sin and think that just because society accepts their CHOSEN lifestyle that God does also. No matter how many preachers and teachers of our day cave in and twist Scripture to make it agree with sinful behavior, this does NOT remove God’s truth one bit. It grieves me to see such disregard for the Word of God today in so many denominations, pulpits and schools.

“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatsoever a man (person) sows, this he will also reap.” Galatians 6:7 NASB

If you sow corn you will not reap peaches. If you sow sin you will reap God’s judgment, unless you repent, turn away from, sin. God longs to be gracious to you but it is up to you to move first. Repentance gets forgiveness by grace.

Just a word that is heavy on my heart today. This is God’s Word, not mine. I am just His messenger.

“Then Gideon and the 300 men who were with him came to the Jordan and crossed over, weary yet pursuing.” Judges 8:4 NASB

During the hottest months of the year, we often grow weak and weary just getting things done. In the winter we long for warm weather and in summer we long for cooler weather. Patience pays off though, as time wears on. Usually in September, we feel a sudden change in the weather and we know that summer is over, for the most part. And in the spring, we sense a change in the weather and we know that warm weather has come to thaw us out from the cold.

This verse helps me as I battle with chronic fatigue in following the example of these brave men just seeking some food and water. In my military time, I was never stationed in a war zone so I don’t claim to know what our soldiers and Marines went through in each of the horrific wars, and those in harm’s way now. Eating rations from a can, sleeping in a hole in the ground, getting soaking wet in storms and freezing in the cold months.

I just wanted to encourage those who, like myself, battle with weariness. We must remember that our weakness is made strength as we depend on the LORD.

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.’ Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weakness, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. Therefore, I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.” 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NASB

No earthly human in the Bible suffered more than the Apostle Paul. All we need to do is read 2 Corinthians 11 to see many of the things he suffered, yet, like Gideon and his men, he kept pursuing the high calling of God on his life.

I hope that this little post brings comfort and needed strength for us to rise up like eagles. After all, NO ONE can take away what we have from God. Even if we die, that is the ultimate reward as we will be face to face with this Awesome God. He will welcome us into His eternal Kingdom forever. Joy unspeakable and full of glory!

‘9 Then another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives a mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 he also will drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is mixed in full strength in the cup of His anger; and he will be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11 And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever; they have no rest day and night, those who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name.” 12 Here is the perseverance of the saints who keep the commandments of God and their faith in Jesus.13 And I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write, ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on!’” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow with them.” Revelation 14:9-13 NASB

“11 Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. 12 And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15 And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire. (emphasis added) Revelation 20:11-15 NASB

There are far too many people today who have been convinced by deceived people that there is nothing to worry about when they die. The god that they have created would not judge people for their lifestyle choices, I.E. living in sin. God has absolute standards and He WILL hold all human beings to that standard. Those who thumb their noses at Him will face the judgment and wrath of God at the judgment seat of Christ. There will be NONE who can talk their way out of this. The Bible says that NONE will be able to give a defense for their sin. No matter who tells you that a lifestyle of rebellion toward God will have no problem getting into heaven, is a blatant liar. By the way, the Bible also says,

“But the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters an all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.” Revelation 21:8 NASB

“9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.” (emphasis added) 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NASB

Folks, to close this out, these are but a few of the passages that speak of judgment and the lake of fire. This is as real as a heart attack. I have studied the Bible for almost forty years, in the original languages, and there is absolutely NO DOUBT that every word will come true as stated. Man’s only hope of escaping this judgment is to repent, turn away from, our sins and put our trust in Jesus’ death on the cross for forgiveness of sins. He will forgive you and make you His child and write your name in His Book of Life. All who do not will face His judgment and be cast into eternal separation from Him in the Lake of Fire. Please take time to think of this. You could die TONIGHT. No one has a guarantee of one more day of life. Once we are dead our future dwelling place is fixed, either heaven or the lake of fire.

God has every right to be the judge of all mankind since He created us. He tells us,

“Behold, all souls are Mine, the soul of the father as well as the soul of the son is Mine. The soul that sins will die.” Ezekiel 18:4 NASB

Please, choose wisely. Your eternal future is at stake.

It amazes me to see what is happening to our nation today, especially what is happening in the majority of God’s church. The Word of God is treated as something to modify, change and use to appease the ones who hate God and His Word. Many preachers today like to stick with the “feel good” texts and outright ignore anything that speaks of what is holy, what speaks of God’s wrath or judgment, what God expects of His people and holds them accountable for living in sinful lifestyles.

This verse is an example of what many preachers use.

“Not one of the good promises which the LORD had made to the house of Israel failed; all came to pass.”                                                                                                             Joshua 21:45 NASB

This is a tremendous verse for folks to cling to and memorize so that in the hard times they can remember that God never fails to keep His promises to His people. But there are other verses that need to be used as well.

“Only be very careful to observe (obey) the commandments and the law which Moses the servant of the LORD commanded you, to love the LORD your God and walk in all His ways and keep His commandments  and hold fast to Him and serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul.”                      (Emphasis added)                                                                                        Joshua 22:5 NASB

I remember hearing a pastor say, “A non-serving Christian is a contradiction of terms.”

Just think about this statement. God did not save His church to sit, soak and sour while a few do all the ministry. Everyone has gifts and a calling to fulfill or they are living in negligence and sin if they ignore this. Far too many church attenders are busy criticizing those who ARE serving. The church today has every responsibility to obey the Old Testament as they are to obey the New. Jesus made numerous references to the Old as He spoke to His disciples and the crowds.

This last verse is still a command to the church. The church did not get an exemption from obeying it and all the other commands God gave to Israel. Remember, we, the wild olive tree, were grafted into the NATIVE olive tree, Israel, when we get saved. So, what is good for Israel is good for us who are now a part of this wonderful native tree. We are ONE in the Lord, Jew and gentile, who have been born again. This is a wonderful truth.

I don’t know how many will even take the time to read this since those living in sin do not want to hear the truth. They avoid it like the plague. To read or hear the Word of God brings conviction that God designs to bring repentance and restoration of full fellowship with Him.

I hope many will read and let this sink deep into their very soul. I love you, the Word of God and God Himself. Many of you will say a big AMEN to these words. Others will grumble that I am taking things too literally. You are right, the Word of God IS to be taken literally. It is not a suggestion, it is a command to be obeyed. The joy of the Lord comes from living close to the heart of God.

“Choose you this day whom you will serve … but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”                                                                                                            Joshua 24:15 NASB
