“1 O LORD, You have searched me and known me.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up;
You understand my thought from afar.
3 You scrutinize my path and my lying down,
and are intimately acquainted with all my ways.
4 Even before there is a word on my tongue,
Behold, O LORD, You know it all.
5 You have enclosed me behind and before,
and laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me;
it is too high, I cannot attain to it.

7 Where can I go from Your Spirit?
Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there;
if I make my bed in Sheol, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the dawn,
if I dwell in the remotest part of the sea,
10 even there Your hand will lead me,
and Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me,
and the light around me will be night,”
12 even the darkness is not dark to You,
and the night is as bright as the day.
Darkness and light are alike to You.

13 For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
15 My frame was not hidden from You,
when I was made in secret,
and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
16 Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
and in Your book were all written
the days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.

17 How precious also are Your thoughts to me, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand.
When I awake, I am still with You.” Psalm 139:1-18 NASB

What an amazing passage of Scripture! This passage lays it out so clearly that very little clarification is needed. In essence, God knows everything I think and do, where I go, what I do. He is the one who formed my body in my mother’s womb and set the number of days that I would live on the earth even before one of them existed. If we look at the profound truth in this passage we would mind our lives much closer than we do since we can hide NOTHING from him, and why should we want to do so unless our ways are contrary to His will for our lives. Sin ALWAYS entangles a life, truth ALWAYS sets us free.

Socrates once said: “The unexamined life is not worth living.” Wise words and on topic for this article.

This Psalm is one of the most profoundly amazing truths for each of us that I know of in the whole Bible. How much clearer does it have to be to get our attention? It lines up perfectly with 1 Corinthians 6:19-20: “Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” (emphasis added)

Far too many professed Christians today think that they can do as they please and still have the favor of God. This is sheer nonsense. I have said many times that there are four possible answers to our prayers. 1. yes, 2. no, 3. wait, and 4. you’ve got to be kidding Me!!! When our lives are out of fellowship with God by our sinful lifestyle we get the last answer to our prayers.

Galatians 5:17 lays this out clearly: “For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please (wish).” (emphasis added)

I don’t know how it can be made any clearer. This includes using trashy language!!! This seems to be epidemic among far too many professing Christians today. It is time for major repentance, turning a 180 degree turn away from worldly behaviors, and seeking to please God in EVERYTHING about our lives. This is walking in His will.

Well, I cannot make it any clearer than this. I hope that if there are any out there who need to change some things about your lifestyle in order to truly live the Christ centered life that this will help you get your heart right with Him. In reality, all of us must do this continually and repent the moment we realize that sin has crept into our hearts.

Blessings, Ike

Songs or Psalms of Ascents were sung as the Jewish people went up to Temple Mount to worship YHVH, Almighty God. There are from Psalm 120-133. There is such joy in their content because the people were in unity with one another since they did not want to approach God with disunity. They were going up to worship. Note the wonderful Psalm that closes the Songs of Ascents, # 133.

“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is
for brothers to dwell together in unity! (emphasis added)
2 It is like the precious oil upon the head,
coming down upon the beard,
even Aaron’s beard,
coming down upon the edge of his robes.
3 It is like the dew of Hermon
coming down upon the mountains of Zion;
for there the Lord commanded the blessing—life forever.” Psalm 133

What a great word for us today. How the Church of Jesus Christ needs unity now. There are too many splinter groups to count. How this happens is when a pastor has a different view of Scripture that he has acquired from whatever source and then leads a congregation to follow him. The Bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” There is never a command in Scripture to follow a man. There are warnings against doing so. This is how the so-called Christian cults got started. The Jehovah’s Witness/Watchtower Society was formed by Charles Taze Russell and the Mormons were formed by Joseph Smith, a trickster. They both said that the church was wrong without pointing out where exactly. Smith supposedly was given some golden plates and special seeing stones to translate them. The plates and stones are nowhere to be found today. I would find it very hard to follow something without something I could see for myself.

The followers often do not even know the leader’s background when they blindly go after a man rather than focusing on God ALONE. This is the same thing that began Jim Jones’ insanity and David Koresh. Both of these groups ended in a massive disaster for the followers. These leaders usually have no formal education in biblical study, so they just go with what they think and feel is right. Koresh thought himself to be the FINAL PROPHET. He changed his name to Koresh in 1990 and took the name from the Persian name for Cyrus the Great. His childhood was very troubled and spend a few years with his grandmother. He was supposedly converted to Christianity in a Southern Baptist church but soon joined his mother’s Seventh Day Adventist church. This was abandoned when he joined the Branch Davidian group in Waco, Texas. The rest is obvious to all.

Well, without going into the rest of his story, I did this to show that most of these leaders had a mixed up life before going off the deep end.

The critical issue for all who are in the TRUE church of Jesus should find common ground by looking at the Scriptures ALONE, not opinion or beliefs. If all would do this and be willing to change beliefs based on what is found there the church would experience Heaven Sent Revival, which is so desperately needed today.

Behold how good and pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity. Oh yes! For this we need to pray daily!

“I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait,
and in His word do I hope.
My soul waits for the Lord
more than the watchmen for the morning;
indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning.
O Israel, hope in the LORD;
for with the LORD there is lovingkindness,
and with Him is abundant redemption.
and He will redeem Israel
from all his iniquities.” Psalm 130:5-8

An almost forgotten idea today in Christian churches is that Israel is the host of this passage and we are the ones who get it by being grated into the Redeemed of Israel. You see, the false teaching of Replacement Theology, which is taught in many Christian colleges and seminaries, that Israel has been replaced by the church and that Israel no longer plays a role in the doctrine of last things. All one has to do to prove that this is false is to read the book of last things, the Revelation. You see, the 144,000 are not Jehovah’s Witnesses, they are JEWS! All through the book of Revelation we see the central role that Jews play as God brings this world to a close and opens up our eternal home to all who have believed in the Jewish Messiah, Yeshua HaMashiach or to us, Jesus Christ. Therefore it is inevitable that the Christian church today realize our command from Jesus Himself to reach the Jew FIRST and then the gentile world. Most churches today have accepted Replacement Theology by ignoring this command, even though they may have never heard of such a teaching.

So, it behoves us to recognize the fact that we, the wild olive branches, are grafted into the NATIVE olive tree, the JEWS. After all, if we merely look at the authors of the sixty-six books of the Bible, we find that they were all written by Jews, and yes there is evidence that even Dr. Luke was Jewish.

Anyway, have a great day in the LORD and let the passage at the beginning sink deep into your heart and soul. What a glorious gift His word is to all those who have made Him the Lord and Savior of their souls.

I am currently reading Teddy’s autobiography and am finding a man of true integrity and patriotism. I came across two quotes that just had to be written down for others.

“What we need is to turn out of our colleges young men with ardent convictions on the side of the right; not young men who can make a good argument for either right or wrong as their interest bids them.” Speaking of the uselessness of learning to debate vs. character development.

“I now believe as sincerely as ever, for all the laws that the wit of man can devise, will ever make a man a worthy citizen unless he has within himself the right stuff, unless he has self-reliance, energy, courage, the power of insisting on his own rights and the sympathy that makes him regardful of the rights of others.” He would make a great President for us today… in a day when the Constitution and the Bill of Rights are being torn apart. Those rights were given us by our founding fathers and we need to stand up for them with all our hearts.

He was raised very strictly to read excellent books and magazines instead of the dime novels of his day and the mindless junk published in most magazines as well.

It is amazing what you find by reading autobiographies of excellent leaders of the past. For instance, I read the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin not long ago just to see if the atheist claim of his being an atheist had any merit. It didn’t! I was amazed to find him saying over and over of his love for the Bible and the God of the Bible. He clearly laid out his beliefs concerning Christianity and I have no doubt that he was a true believer.

It is amazing what you find when you read about such men, and women as well. Some of the women that the NOW group and other liberal groups hold up as their role models were Christians. Somehow they must not have read their life stories.

I hope this will challenge you to read them for yourselves. You can download them for FREE from Kindle E books. I like the word FREE. I like writing it, FREE. Don’t you????

Throughout Jewish history, there have been those who rose up with one goal in mind, to wipe the Jews off the face of the earth. To name but three: Haman, Hitler and Hamas. By the way, we could include Pharaoh as well, but he messes up my H idea, ha ha. Maybe his name was Hermon??? It is also interesting that as we examine the Old Covenant (Testament) that the only times that God commanded Israel to attack a people group were those nations that hated Israel and sought their destruction. These same nations are doing the same in our day. They are united in one purpose, to destroy every Jew on the earth. Some are under a different name today, but they are still out to destroy the Jews, the Chosen People of God. A classic example of this is found in Psalm 83 and ends with what will be their end. Note the names of those listed in the Psalm.

“1 O God, do not remain quiet;
Do not be silent and, O God, do not be still.
2 For behold, Your enemies make an uproar,
And those who hate You have exalted themselves.
3 They make shrewd plans against Your people,
And conspire together against Your treasured ones.
4 They have said, “Come, and let us wipe them out as a nation,
That the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
5 For they have conspired together with one mind;
Against You they make a covenant:
6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites,
Moab and the Hagrites;
7 Gebal and Ammon and Amalek,
Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Assyria also has joined with them;
They have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.

9 Deal with them as with Midian,
As with Sisera and Jabin at the torrent of Kishon,
10 Who were destroyed at En-dor,
Who became as dung for the ground.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb
And all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Who said, “Let us possess for ourselves
The pastures of God.”

13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust,
Like chaff before the wind.
14 Like fire that burns the forest
And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,
15 So pursue them with Your tempest
And terrify them with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with dishonor,
That they may seek Your name, O LORD.
17 Let them be ashamed and dismayed forever,
And let them be humiliated and perish,
18 That they may know that You alone, whose name is the LORD,
Are the Most High over all the earth. (emphasis added)”

If we simply read the Bible to the end, we find in the Battle of Armageddon that these enemies that make a final push to destroy God’s Chosen People will themselves be wiped out and tragically will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire.

There was an old commercial on TV, for Chiffon margarine, many years ago that said, “It’s not nice to fool mother nature.” Well folks, it is not wise to fool with God’s Chosen People, the Jews. As a matter of fact, it is downright deadly to do so. Every gentile Christian should be a total supporter of the Jewish people and pray daily for their safety and ultimately for them to find their Messiah in Jesus Christ/Y’shua HaMashiach. It is great to know the outcome long before it comes. After all, all who know and love GOD will win and those who do not lose. Let’s see how many of those in the loser column we can shift over to the winner column. This is called evangelism. After all, this is ground zero for why the Messiah died on the cross, to save sinners. Thank you LORD for saving a sinner like me. Use me to bring other sinners out of darkness into Your glorious light.
