This passage of Scripture is wonderfully powerful to just read. I was touched by it today in my quiet time and wanted to share it with you. Wow, the promises and truth revealed by Mary to all generations. Note the places where our obedience is expected.

46 And Mary said: “My soul exalts the Lord,
47 And my spirit has rejoiced in God my Savior.
48 “For He has had regard for the humble state of His bondslave;
For behold, from this time on all generations will count me blessed.
49 “For the Mighty One has done great things for me;
And holy is His name.
50 “And His mercy is upon generation after generation
Toward those who fear Him.
51 “He has done mighty deeds with His arm;
He has scattered those who were proud in the thoughts of their heart.
52 “He has brought down rulers from their thrones,
And has exalted those who were humble.
53 “He has filled the hungry with good things;
And sent away the rich empty-handed.
54 “He has given help to Israel His servant,
In remembrance of His mercy,
55 As He spoke to our fathers,
To Abraham and his descendants forever.”

56 And Mary stayed with her about three months, and then returned to her home.

“If some few passages of the Bible may be favorable to communism, the general spirit of its doctrines is, nevertheless, totally opposed to it.” Frederick Engels

Don’t know how to say it more clearly than that. Out of the mouth of this atheist, Socialist, Communist founder comes the clear answer to our question. Christianity is far more than some form of Communism or Socialism, and it flatly refutes the idea of redistribution of wealth. Paul said it best in 2 Thessalonians 3:10 NASB, “For even when we were with you, we used to give you this order : if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.”

Does that sound like redistribution of wealth to you? Lazy people must work to earn money to buy their OWN food. When we are instructed to help others is when they are disabled and cannot work. This is Christian charity. I think that we do no favors to people who will not work to set up kitchens to feed them so that they can continue to live lives of addiction and laziness. We are merely prolonging their misery.

I attended a memorial service for a precious friend and saint of God today. She was 81 years young and had a resume of Christian service a mile long. One of the speakers spoke of her philosophy of life that really spoke to me personally. Nell lived the last years of her life with serious health issues but the words spoken about her were, “Your physical condition has nothing to do with your spiritual impact.” Wow! That spoke volumes to me in the circumstances in which I live daily. I get frustrated at TRYING to do things that I am physically not up to and when I push ahead I usually pay the price for days afterward. I bounce back and forth from holding back to looking at the Apostle Paul and his amazing ministry IN SPITE of his physical ailments. These words meant a lot to me, and knowing the LADY who said them means more than I can say. I/we will miss you sweet Nell. No more pain, no more sorrow, no more tears, no more death. The old things have passed away, new things have come, and man we can only imaging what they include. Just being in God’s eternal presence is the best of all. See you one day soon as God sees fit.

Preview of next Christmas. You know that the atheist liberals want to remove the name of Christmas from anything public during this time of year, so I have a new take on this attack. They want to call it Holiday instead of Christmas. Well, all we have to do is to let them know that saying Happy Holidays is synonymous with wishing people Happy Christmas. You see, the word Holiday is a blending of two words to shorten them. The original words were Holy Day, i.e. Christmas, according to Webster’s 1828 Dictionary. If you don’t have a copy of this wonderful early American treasure, you owe it to yourself to get one. It is still in print today. Mr. Noah Webster was the compiler and it is published today by the Foundation For American Christian Education. This volume is loaded with Bible references with a majority of words used.

So, next Christmas let’s let them know that they are saying Happy Holy Days by trying to bury the word Christmas. We can never allow them to win the battle for Christmas and I am sure that the Holy Day of Christmas will outlive every one of them. Like that great theologian John Lennon who once said of the Beatles, “Christianity will go.. It will vanish and shrink. I needn’t argue with that; I’m right and I will be proved right. We’re more popular than Jesus now; I don’t know which will go first — rock and roll or Christianity. Jesus was all right, but his disciples were thick and ordinary. It’s them twisting it that ruins it for me.”

Well Johnny knows for sure that Jesus is alive and well since he was murdered in 1980.  The Beatles are no more and John is no longer with us, but Jesus Christ is just as popular today as ever. Like the attack on Christmas, the atheists will be no more but Jesus Christ will reign forever and ever and ever. AMEN!
