One possible answer.

“4 for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful for the destruction of fortresses. 5 We are destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ, 6 and we are ready to punish all disobedience, whenever your obedience is complete.” 2 Corinthians 10:4-6 NASB

Notice the first part of this passage and then the last part as an explanation. We have been given heavenly weapons to stop the evil that tries to seize our spiritual lives and a nation’s freedom. The huge question is, are we using them or are they rusting away from neglect? Are we destroying speculations and every lofty things that is raised up against the knowledge of God? Are we destroying fortifications? Are we taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ? We must honestly answer that our tools ARE rusting away from non-use, for the most part and when this happens our lives and our nation comes under uncontested attack by Satan, his huge army of demons and human beings who are blind to the truth and choose to be his agents for evil.

Now, note the last line of the passage. “We are ready to punish all disobedience WHENEVER YOUR OBEDIENCE IS COMPLETE.” So, why is America, and most of the world, under massive decay morally, spiritually and relationally? Because the children of God are neglecting our task set out by God Himself: evangelism, discipleship, true worship and prayer. One of the huge issues in our time is JEWISH evangelism. Most believers today are totally oblivious as to the command to go to the Jew FIRST with His message of salvation, as Jesus did Himself.. Romans 1:16 and 2:9

Most believers today are not being taught the whole Bible from the pulpits and so this leaves them living in biblical ignorance. Most sermons today only deal with the love of God and not the consequences of sin and issues of obedience. Certain words are to never be used from the pulpit. This is nothing short of a crime against the church of Jesus and lands us in open apostasy today. Did Jesus only preach feel good sermons? Did He only tell us how to live a happy life and have lots of friends? NO! He boldly spoke the WHOLE truth to all He encountered. He knew nothing of what is called SEEKER FRIENDLY. To see this all we have to do is to read the passages where He dealt with the religious leaders. There were times when a large crowd would gather and He would turn and leave the area.

Folks, in EVERY great revival and Great Awakening, there preceded a time of deep soul-searching and repentance from personal sins. This is what is desperately needed today. There is nothing more heart wrenching for me than to see professing Christians living in sin. It is time for judgment to begin in the house of God, as Scripture says. The word REPENTANCE is one of those never to be spoken words today and yet this is the greatest need of the hour. It is time for His church to return to preaching, teaching and living out the whole Word of God. The benefits are amazing.

Recent comments by the new Pope have been sheer heresy. He recently said, “We have to find a new balance; otherwise, even the moral edifice of the church is likely to fall like a house of cards, losing the freshness and fragrance of the Gospel.”

What MORAL edifice and what Gospel if he is now saying that if one obeys his conscience that this is sufficient to get them into heaven without Jesus Christ, that the church must ease its focus on polarizing issues like abortion, homosexuality and contraception in favor of a caring, people-oriented engagement with the world.

Wait a minute! You mean that we have to focus only on the love of God and make no big deal about the countless references in Scripture to morality, God’s condemnation of homosexuality as an abomination and people shaking up rather than living according to God’s mandate to be married? No wonder the Roman Catholic church has so many issues with priests molesting boys … ie, homosexual behavior right in its ministers.

Two months ago, Francis caused a sensation during an inflight news conference when he was asked about gay priests. “Who am I to judge?” about sexual orientation of priests, as long as they are searching for God and have good will, he responded.

Talk about the apostasy predicted in the Bible. 2 Thessalonians 2:3 The word apostasy means falling away from the truths of the Bible. Websters’ Dictionary defines it a, “renunciation or abandonment of a former loyalty.” It is everywhere today, and not just in the Roman Catholic church. Many main line denominations have fallen sway to political correctness rather than biblical correctness, including Christian universities and seminaries.

How on earth can man put God’s stamp of approval on that which God says is an abomination? The arrogance of modern man is staggering! Dr. D. James Kennedy, in one of his most passionate messages, laid the blame squarely at the feet of over 300,000 silent churches in America. The message was, “Will The Church Forget?” I have posted this message video on my facebook page. You can also do a search and find it for yourself. Dr. Kennedy went home to be this the LORD a few years, ago but he remains one of my all time favorite preachers of the Word of God.

There is a Christian song titled, “Let the church rise and move the gates of Hell,” and that is what is desperately needed in America and around the world today before it is too late. We are to tear down every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God. 2 Corinthians 10:5 NASB But are we doing so? Will 300,000 pulpits remain silent on issues that are clearly biblical, or will they suddenly become deliberate in declaring the WHOLE Bible to their congregations?

Psalm 89:11-18

New American Standard Bible (NASB)

11 The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours;
The world and all it contains, You have founded them.
12 The north and the south, You have created them;
Tabor and Hermon shout for joy at Your name.
13 You have a strong arm;
Your hand is mighty, Your right hand is exalted.
14 Righteousness and justice are the foundation of Your throne;
Lovingkindness and truth go before You.
15 How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!
O Lord, they walk in the light of Your countenance.
16 In Your name they rejoice all the day,
And by Your righteousness they are exalted.
17 For You are the glory of their strength,
And by Your favor our horn is exalted.
18 For our shield belongs to the Lord,
And our king to the Holy One of Israel.

The words made bold for emphasis. The emphasis is on those who belong to God and walk in His ways. So many today are missing the joy of their salvation because they are listening to the wrong voices. The world, the flesh and the devil are all liars. They have one goal, to lead believers into apostasy and discouragement. To belong to God and live a defeated life is a travesty. Why not seek the LORD while He may be found … NOW! The signs of the times are all around us that the day of His return is coming soon. Like the prodigal son who sought his fulfillment in the world, he only ended up in the hog pen. God made us for greater things. “Choose you this day whom you will serve.” Joshua 24:15

Happy Friday to all.

“If I regard wickedness in my heart, the LORD will not hear; but certainly God has heard my prayer. Blessed be God, Who has not turned away my prayer nor His lovingkindness from me.” Psalm 66:18-20 NASB

“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NASB

It is obvious that David understood 1 John 1:9 before it was written, since he did this regularly. I like to say, “Keep your accounts short with God.” This simply means that when we realize that we have sinned that we immediately confess it and forsake it so that fellowship is restored. Sin drives a wedge in our fellowship with God but the blood of Jesus pulls it out and we are restored.

I spoke to a jr. high class on this topic one morning when one of the young ladies in class spoke up and said, “Well, when I know what I am doing is wrong I go ahead and do it and then confess it.” My, my how we play games with God. We act as though God is unaware of our conniving ways. All we have to do is to read Scripture to see that this NEVER works. There is a time when God turns away from us and lets us sweat out the consequences of our disobedience until we get sick of ourselves, then when we, like the Prodigal Son, turn to God in genuine repentance (turning away from our sin) and He restores our fellowship with Him. Many of the Psalms have this topic at hand, Psalm 51 for instance. David, in this Psalm, describes the depth of his misery until he repented and found peace with God once again. This was after his adultery with Bathsheba. No matter the depth of our sin, God will let us feel its sting so that it brings us to repentance. The following verse illustrates this.

“For the sorrow that is according to the will of God produces a repentance without regret, leading to salvation, but the sorrow of the world produces death.” 2 Corinthians 7:10 NASB

Well, there you have it. There is a way to maintain consistent fellowship with our God, that is the way of avoiding sin and when we slip up that we immediately confess it, repent of it and seek to forsake it from our lives. Sin always produces death, God always produces life.

“And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobedience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 2:1-7 NASB

Well, that passage says it all! Have a God blessed day and a bright future with the LORD.

(BOLD added for emphasis)
