“Lust is the natural outgrowth of a lack of contentment. There are two problems with lust: it leads us to disobey God’s commands in trying to satisfy our sinful desires, and it can NEVER be satisfied. Lust compels us to do anything and everything to satisfy it, and it inevitably leads us to violate the Lord’s commands.” John MacArthur
Taken from his study of Exodus

We need to take the time to print these words and post them on our refrigerator doors and read them daily. They WILL guard us from devastating failures. There are a number of kinds of lust, power lust, material lust, sexual lust, lust of the eyes etc. Lust is that deep craving that is with us our whole life. God makes a way for us to defeat ALL lusts.

“But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his OWN lust. Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death.” James 1:14-15 NASB

“What is the source of quarrels and conflicts among you? Is not the source your pleasures that wage WAR in your members? You lust and do not have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot attain; so you fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.” James 4:1-4 NASB

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the TRUE knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises; so that BY THEM you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 2 Peter 1:2-4 NASB

“Do not love the world nor the things of the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is NOT in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life, is NOT from the Father, but is from the world. The world is passing away, and also its lusts; but the one who does the will of God lives forever.”
1 John 2:15-17 NASB

“If my heart has been enticed by a woman, or I have lurked at my neighbor’s doorway, may my wife grind with another, and let others kneel down over her. For that would be a lustful crime; moreover, it would be an iniquity punishable by judges.” Job 31:9-11 NASB (Emphasis added by CAPS)

You see, the cure for lust is to NOW and DO the Word of the LORD. It is a constant guard over our lives, twenty-four hours a day.
The neglect of the Word leaves us vulnerable to the fiery arrows, temptations, of the devil. Not only reading the Word but memorizing it. How did Jesus resist the devil in the wilderness? He said over and over, “It is written.” He quoted Scripture to drive the enemy away and it worked for Him and it will work for us … IF WE DO IT.

Let’s walk in victory day by day so that we may please our God and Savior. Love you all!

Paraprosdokians (Winston Churchill loved them) are figures of speech in which the latter part of a sentence or phrase is surprising or unexpected; frequently humorous. Enjoy!

2. The last thing I want to do is hurt you. But it’s still on my list.

3. Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

4. If I agreed with you, we’d both be wrong.

5. We never really grow up, we only learn how to act in public.

6. War does not determine who is right – only who is left.

7. Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit.. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

8. To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism. To steal from many is research.

9. I didn’t say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

10. In filling out an application, where it says, ‘In case of emergency, Notify:’ I put ‘DOCTOR’.

11. Women will never be equal to men until they can walk down the street with a bald head and a beer gut, and still think they are sexy.

12. You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.

13. I used to be indecisive. Now I’m not so sure..

14. To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

15. Going to church doesn’t make you a Christian any more than standing in a garage makes you a car.

“I wait for the LORD, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope. My soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning; indeed, more than the watchmen for the morning. O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is lovingkindness, and with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.” Psalm 130:5-8 NASB

Teach us to patiently wait on You, LORD. We love You! Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and all of Israel considering all the insanity going on in the Middle East and North Africa.

It is sad to see many pastors and teachers, of the Word, try to harmonize the Bible with evolution. One such attempt is Theistic Evolution. Here they try to make 2 Peter 3:8, (“But do not let this one fact escape our notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like one day.”) out to mean that the seven days of creation were LONG PERIODS of time, i.e. 1,000 years each. This gets them nowhere in reality as this would still only give them 7,000 years. This is NOT at all what the passage is saying. It says that to God, who does not live in time and space as we humans do, a day is like a thousand years.

One method of interpretation is that we seek other passages to give light to one that is less clear.

Let’s look at Psalm 90:4 to clarify it. “For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it passes by, or as a watch in the night.” Note that it is clearly not meant to be taken literally as the first comparison is of a day and the second is for a night watchman’s watch length, which is certainly not 24 hours, most likely 8 hours or maybe 12.

The greatest tragedy is for pastors and teaches to give ANY credence to evolution at all. If one works from the Hebrew of the book of Genesis, you find it lines up perfectly with GOOD scientific evidence. A day, as the seven day of the creation week, was 24 hours, as it is today. There is NO evidence that the word for day, yom, can mean anything other than the rising and setting of the sun, as it says in Genesis. “And there was evening and there was morning, one day.” Genesis 1:5 NASB

Yom can be used of periods of time when it has a qualifying word with it such as in David’s day. Note that of the LORD qualifies it to speak of a specific period of time.

Another proof is when God speaks of keeping the Sabbath, He says that man is to work six days and is to rest on the seventh. He refers this work week, in comparison, to the seven days of creation in which God rested on the seventh day. If each day was a thousand days, man would that be a long work week. You would have to work six thousand years before you had a day off, which is absurd. See Genesis 31:14-17 to see this application.

One last proof is to think that Almighty God could not just speak and everything listed each day would appear at His command is to limit His power. Nothing is impossible with God. The so-called Cambrian Explosion is an example of mature life suddenly appearing all at once.

Okay, enough for today. I think the point has been made. God made everything that exists in six twenty-four hour days and evolution is a completely false system to explain it. Amen!
