Because of some recent events and conversations, my dander is up concerning the flood of false teachers and teachings. These have left a trail of wounded, confused and sometimes outright casualties in their wake. It seems that today many preachers would rather fleece the sheep than lead and feed them. “Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7:15 “Thus says the Lord GOD, ‘Behold, I am against the shepherds, and I will demand My sheep from them and make them cease from feeding sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I will deliver My flock from their mouth, so that they will not be food for them.’ ” Ezekiel 34:10 “Therefore, I exhort the elders among you, as your fellow elder and witness of the sufferings of Christ, and a partaker also of the glory that is to be revealed, shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight not under compulsion, but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not for sordid gain, but with eagerness; nor yet as lording it over those allotted to your charge, but proving to be examples to the flock. And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory.”

1 Peter 5:1-4 “Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God. Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood. I know that after my departure savage wolves will come in among you, not sparing the flock; and from among your own selves men will arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away the disciples after them. Therefore be on the alert, remembering that night and day for a period of three years I did not cease to admonish each one with tears. And now I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. I have coveted no one’s silver or gold or clothes. You yourselves know that these hands ministered to my own needs and to the men who were with me. In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ ”Acts 20:26-35 “But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. Many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of the truth will be maligned; and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.” 2 Peter 1:1-3  I find no reference where Jesus ever instructed His apostles to beg for money so that the preachers could live in multi-million dollar houses and drive expensive cars etc. etc.  I have been studying and preaching the Word of God for over thirty years now and I have seen and heard some unbelievable things. I have written and spoken about them but I think that it is time to clean the house of God one more time. When Jesus began His ministry and at the end of it He cleaned out the temple of those who made His house a place to rip off the believers who came to worship. The Bible records a number of places where He took drastic and immediate action to assure that His house of worship remained pure. The two sons of Aaron, Achan, Anninias and Sapphira are a few examples. Leviticus 10:1-3, Joshua 7:22-26, Acts 5:1-11   Oh that we might again make the Church’s purpose about God and not man. “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And He said to him, ” ‘YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND.’ “This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ “On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.”(emphasis added)Matthew 22:36-40  Be careful what you swallow. It can be dangerous.
